Easy, everyday knit pants

Children's pants with an elasticated waistband and ribbed cuffs at the ankle.

Cut from a low-elastane jersey or interlock, this pattern is sized 18 months to 10 years.

What you'll need

Suggested fabrics

For sewing pants, choose fabric with a low content of elastane: soft jersey knit or interlock.

Also needed

  • Main fabric — 52–83 cm (20.5"–32.7"), length by size, see table below
  • Elastic for the waistband
  • Needles for knitwear
  • Threads
  • Seam allowances of 1 cm (0.39") are already included on every pattern piece

We recommend using a jersey or stretch needle for your sewing machine, and a double needle to finish the hem. If you don't have a serger, use zigzag or another stretch stitch.
